DESIGN IDEA & CONCEPT
“Tunjuk belang” is a Malay idiom; translates as “showing stripes”. This idiom means ‘to shows fierceness.’ or ‘showing bad side’. Stripe is an iconic character of the Malayan Tiger. Malayan tigers lose their territorial habitat and food sources because of uncontrol & illegal deforestation. Forest fragmentation is known as the main ‘body’ that ‘puzzle’ these issues. Tiger stripes are replaced by ruined forest topography that creates new “stripes” due to lodging activity. This is an analogy of Malayan Tiger territory destruction. It is us, humans, that actually “Tunjuk belang”,; showing our greed to mother nature..
