DESIGN IDEA & CONCEPT
The pixels were painted throughout the tiger at different areas to symbolize the digital world that we are surrounded with in the present moment. Most of our knowledge or facts related to animal are found through the digital world and hence, inviting the people to care for more animals.
Alicia Lau is a multi-disciplinary artist who has been practicing arts since 2012 and is currently based in Kuala Lumpur. Born in 1995, she completed her Diploma studies at Dasein Academy of Art and further studied at Middlesex University, UK and was awarded the degree of Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in 2017. She has participated in several art exhibitions both locally and abroad including the “5th Bangkok Triennale International Print and Drawing Exhibition” held at the Bangkok Art and Cultural Center (2019), the “Kuala Lumpur International Miniprint Exhibition 2018” and “Young Contemporary 2019”, both held at the National
Art Gallery of Malaysia while “Watch This Space” was held at Beaconsfield Gallery Vauxhall, London (2017). In 2020, she had her first solo exhibition “From Lines to Gaps” at G13 gallery, Malaysia. She had also been awarded 2nd Prize in the “Printmaking Category, 2014” Tanjong Heritage Awards.
