The main inspiration for this project originates from the Chinese philosophical concept ‘Yin and Yang’, which illustrates that everything in our living world is indeed interconnected, complementary and interdependent to each other. The black and white paint applied to this tiger figurine symbolizes the idea of Harmony – A world where both animals and mankind live together harmoniously.

ABOUT ARTIST
Mark Tan (b. 1991, Kuala Lumpur) obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Drawing and Applied Arts from the University of the West of England. Working through photography, drawing, and printmaking, his various configurations become sensory fragments that investigate mark-making methodologies. The psychological spaces of memory as a site of constant flux are then used
as a trigger for Tan’s practice.
