An old man or warmly known as ‘tatak’ among the indigenous people from the Jahai tribe, calmly maneuvers his raft made of bamboo in the Royal Belum State park. ‘Tatak’ usually starts his day early in the morning to hunt with his blowpipe. These days, maintaining his livelihoods is a constant struggle as he needs to compete with modern hunters who use firearms. His safety is also in question as he faces threats from poachers in the jungle. The rainforests are bursting with life of various species of plants and animals, for people like ‘tatak’, they call the rainforest their home.
